I recently had an epiphany after much self-reflection. I realized that my achievements are largely due to persistent effort and hard work. While I don’t have definitive proof of how much is directly attributable to effort versus luck, it’s clear that working diligently plays a major role in success.

Let me elaborate on what it really means to work hard in various areas of life:

Pray Fervently

Prayer is more than just bowing your head. It’s developing an attitude of gratitude that permeates all aspects of your life. Thank God while working, bathing, walking, and throughout your daily activities. Constant gratitude through prayer connects you more deeply with your purpose.

Work Fully Engaged

When I work, I devote my full attention and energy. I optimize my workflow by dividing tasks between focused coding at my workstation and high-level planning at home. With the heart of a determined hustler and no fear of failure, I now see breakthrough results from this all-in approach. I give my work absolutely everything I’ve got — it’s 100% effort or nothing.

Train With Discipline

It’s early morning and I’m already training even before sorting out my schedule. I hit cardio for 30+ minutes, getting the blood flowing and endorphins activated before most people’s alarms sound. I don’t care much for excuses or distractions. I push myself physically and mentally every single day to perform at my peak.

Love Wholeheartedly

You may be surprised to hear “love hard” recommended as a strategy. But nurturing relationships is critical for sustainable success. I strive to consider how each choice affects my family, from business decisions to quality time conversing. With young children at home, building something enduring matters more than quick wins that won’t outlast me. Expressing genuine love and appreciation for my mom, siblings, nieces and the rest of my family makes life meaningful, especially since any day could be our last together. My unconditional love isn’t about impressing anyone — it’s the glue binding my purpose.
